The true goal of automation is the elimination of labor

Machine automation systems can be installed on existing manually operated machines, or retrofits for cases of used equipment purchases that come with obsolete or no controls.

In existing manual control upgrades, a PLC can be added to ride on top of the existing controls and use a manual/auto switch to select between the existing manual controls or the PLC controlled automatic mode.

The benefits are increased production, lower or eliminated employee overhead, the redundancy of the manual system in the event of complete PLC failure, and lowest installation cost. An optional touch screen can be added to include eMaintenance programs, to reduce downtime.
